What is Fortified Mindz? It can be anything you like it to be. But to be more precise, Fortified Mindz or FM is a Hip Hop based talk show. I spin mainly local, but also indie and mainstream hip hop, soul, world, spoken word, basically anything with a dope beat and fire lyrics. The show originally started on Media Bridges in 2002 and aired for 3yrs, then was on Bearcast radio on the University of Cincinnati’s campus for a year and half. Now it’s being resurrected to be a mashup of news/open dialogue and soul rockin’ music.

Lamonte Young aka Blade Triple:

A Cincinnatian born and bred Producer, Artist, Musician, striven to make myself a versatile person; Starting in music performance and dance then to spoken word. My childhood consisted of inquisitive yearning for art, music and film. My desire grew when I starting writing short stories and poetry. Then about the fourth grade I wrote for the school paper. Seeing my name in print and gaining the thrill of providing correct and positive news fueled my interests in journalism and media. Fast forward 2001, Civil Unrest unfolds in Cincinnati. I just graduate high school and started working on a documentary about the riot in which I interviewed citizens of OTR and as well as all the neighborhoods in the city, thus gaining a perspective of the unheard-youth. In 2003, I joined the Artistic order of 144k where I became their videographer and performed at many of their events; making a name for myself as a “Poet/Multimedia master”, quoted by Lady Khadija. That same year, I opened for Jessica Care Moore w/144k @ The Blast/Enjoy the Arts festival. CURRENTLY, you can find me performing across Cincinnati and the Midwest.
