The Rize Radio

The Rize Radio was actually created for my son Larry Anderson aka
"YOUNG LEM" to get his music played on the air. I had been going to
different radio stations trying to get them to play his CD's, which are
great music. I had heard about Media Bridges and I decided to take their radio class. I am glad I did because, since
going through the radio class, I am not only playing my son's music, I
have started playing music from other local artists in and out of Cincinnati
area.
We have tapped into New Jersy fans and they love "The Rize Radio
Show" they call in faithfully every Thurs and they hit us on FB and
Myspace. I have had some great guests come through our radio room such as Laure
Quinlivan, our newest member of Cincinnati City Council and La Marque
Ward, who also ran for City Council.
NAACP President Chris Smitherman came in to our little powered
station and voice his concerns about issues in Cincinnati. My musical
guests on the show have included Cincinnati legend Wilbert Longmire &
Don Manor, who have played with some of the legends in the jazz arena
The producer and writer Kole Black and Lee Zellars of OTR (Over The Rhine) Crime Drama Series, which premiered Nov 5th 2009 at the Springdale Showcase Cinema's, have also appeared on the show. I had
a part in the movie as news reporter for The Rize TV news. Lee Zellars
and Carlos Jeff & Will Leary co-host with me on the radio and we
have a blast.
Being a member of Media Bridges has allowed me to
meet a lot of new people and has given me so many opportunities to have a
voice and create a radio show about people that are on the Rize, whether it is
music politics, writers, poets pr health issues. I cover it all, but my
goal is to be the outlet for the next generation of music. Our motto is:
"WE AINT PLAY-N ORDINARY MUSIC ON THE RIZE, WE PLAY-N YOUR MUSIC"
